My parents and grandparents came to visit us last week!! We had such a good time. Some people (Grandma, Grandpa, Rayna) donated a little bit of their life span and a lot of their sanity to the cause, but at least we had fun, darn it!
Our first stop was Arlington Cemetary. We watched the changing of the guards which was very... systematic.
The Eternal Flame at the Kennedys' graves

We went on the elevator ride up to the top of the Washington Monument. Cool building and cool views.

About to get on the elevator
My family has more pictures than I do. We had a blast doing a TON of other things: dinners, games, Mount Vernon, SEGWAY TOURS (if you ever have the chance to do this, DO IT! We found out there's no feeling quite like speeding along city streets on your segway at 12 miles an hour! We LOVED it!), National Archives, museums, etc.

We went on the elevator ride up to the top of the Washington Monument. Cool building and cool views.

About to get on the elevator
To the north: Ellipse park and the White House
To the west: WWII Memorial, reflection pool, Lincoln Memorial at the end, Potomac River in the background
To the east: National Mall with the Capitol at the end
Apparently no picture of the south. Nothing special there.
At the Lincoln Memorial. Hey kid, get out of the picture!
Mom, Rayna loved you! She asked for you the other day! Well, not with words, but I could tell she missed having you around :)

I bet you loved having your family visit. I still want to hear the full story about the water bottle and the national security issue.
We heard about the flamboyant tour guide, and the segways, and the water bottle! Sounds like a great time and look at all the stories you have to tell!
how fun! and you did make it to the wash. memorial? did you find the tickets?!
